I seriously had such a nice day today. I spent my morning cuddled up on the couch, browsing blogs, drinking coffee, eating turkey bacon and steel cut oatmeal and watching Gilmore Girls. I was looking at my desk and our bookshelves and DVD’s and AHHHH! Yes, they were cute and all of that, but nothing was right where I wanted it, plus I was desperate to make things cuter. I’d found these adorable paper fabric garlands on Etsy but wanted something slightly different, that didn’t require sewing and preferably with Andrew and I’s initials.
I was browsing Flickr this morning, and suddenly remembered that the always-lovely Wishcake had made something with her initials once. I browsed her Flickr to find it, and behold: exactly what I wanted.
My mom has a really cool scrapbooking tool called the Cricut that lets you cut out letters and shapes and numbers. We took a trip to Joann’s, and got a few supplies—cute paper and mini-clothespins—and voila!:
A lovely little garland was born.
I’m not gonna lie—I’m kind of in love with it. I think it looks pretty cute.
Besides the garland making, my mom and I enjoyed a few other little stops: Target, the Dollar Store and Joann’s, and I was treated to some new art stuff AND a cute bag of “back to school” goodies. Mom’s are the best. My mom especially.
I came home for dinner with Andrew, a showing of the reader and cuddles on the couch.
A pretty perfect Saturday indeed.
