One of the coolest things about visiting a different part of the country are the little things that every household has. This little guy is a mud/snow scraper. When it’s bad weather, you scrape your shoes on it before you go inside to save the carpet from getting snowy and muddy. Since it doesn’t get terribly stormy where I live, I’ve never seen one, but these are pretty common in areas with snowy/muddy winters. Pretty cute!
Anyways, while most everyone I know is enjoying a sunny, hot 4th of July with barbecues, swim parties and outdoor activities, we’ve been cooped up because it’s absolutely POURING here. We saw a movie and are probably going to play board games with some of Andrew’s friends later. Should be a fun day, despite the total difference in what a typical California 4th of July is like. I’m so thrilled we got to see the fireworks from the boat last night!
