First of all, THANK YOU. Thank you for reading, for commenting, for emailing me, and for sharing your own stories with me. I was incredibly scared to share my story, as I mentioned about a billion times, but I am so glad that I did. Selfishly, this made me feel so much better that others were dealing with this, or had dealt with it in the past because I had no idea that so many women had experienced this. I was humbled that sharing this part of my life seemed to touch so many people. So, thank you. I don’t know what else to say.
Secondly, my blog hit 10,000+ hits yesterday. I am so thrilled that telling my stories and sharing my life is being read. I really love blogging, dorky as that is, and it makes me happy that so many people have shared in my story. So, thank you again.
Finally, I need your opinion. A few months ago, I mentioned a few of my aspirations and secret goals. One of those was and is playing Roller Derby. I don’t know why I think these girls are so amazing, but they are so damn cool to me. It just so happens that tryouts are coming up…and I’m definitely considering trying out. For those of you who don’t really know much about roller derby, here’s a video:
Here are the “pro’s” of roller derby, as I view them:
—A cool way to exercise
—I’ve never, ever been part of a team. Okay, fine, I played soccer as a kid (what’s up, former Wildcats!) but that’s it.
—It’s badass! Those girls are tough!
—I like roller skating!
—Um, I’m afraid of blood, injuries, and dying on a skate track.
So, readers—some of you know me, some only know my blog, but I want your opinion. Should I attempt to try out for Roller Derby, or is this just not my deal? Vote below:
I’ll be back for some journal-wreckage tomorrow—a day late, I know. But today, I’m off to kayak with my favorite guy!
